Dutch firm close to launching 140m [diameter] offshore pen in China.” Sep. 30, 2019, Louis Harkell. Philip Schreven, co-founder and director of De Maas, told Undercurrent News the 140-meter-diameter offshore pen is nearing the final stages of assembly in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, after which it will be transported to a location near Fujian province, southeast China. Once installed offshore, it will be stocked with fingerlings of large yellow croaker, a marine species typically farmed in near-shore cages along Fujian’s coast.

De Maas, which was co-founded by Dutchmen Schreven and Mark van Leeuwen, is primarily engaged in the offshore oil and gas sector, But in winter of 2017 the firm inked a deal to deliver the offshore pen after presenting a more attractive bid than a local competitor.
